Day 59!!

This morning was a bit hectic and I didn't get Mia's lunch made on time so after the bus left I packed two and had lunch with her at school this afternoon.   And of course I grabbed lipsticks before heading out the door.  We were all Clinique today: she wore Blushing Coral and I had on Black Honey,

It was a very nice break, especially since we got to sit outside.  Now we are home waiting for the storms to roll in...nothin yet.  Hopefully none at all.

See you tomorrow!!

58th Day

Two more days till the big day!!  In the meantime, here we are with two of my personal favorites: Mia has on Poppy Shine by Clinique and I have on Smile by Laura Mercier. Mia has never worn Poppy Shine but it looks really pretty with her coloring and blue eyes.   I have worn Smile two or three times now in this challenge--it goes on really nicely and feels like it has a bit of an exfoliant in it. My lips feel very conditioned wearing this one.

We didn't get a walk in today but did play catch outside for a bit. Charlie was glad we were out there with him and was really going all out to show us how he climbs trees.  He chased the ball a few times but didn't seem to know what to do with it when he got it and went back to his trees each time. He's still out there even though it is three hours past his dinnertime. I hope this doesn't mean he's bringing home take-in...

Day 57 of 365

I can't believe it is the last Sunday of the second month of the year already. Today was a long day and it is time for beddy bye but not without our daily post.  Today Mia wore the same combo I wore yesterday of Bidi Bidi Bom Bom and Rosy Rim by M.A.C and it looks pretty on her. I wore Loreal's Cherry Cola. It is pretty too but it also smells delicious. I don't use much Loreal but every single lipstick I have ever used from them smells like baked goods. Maybe that is their cosmetic ploy to keep people reapplying.  Come to think of it, my favorite nail polish in high school was Loreal and that too smelled like cake batter.  I wonder if anyone else notices this?   Too much to think about now. Goodnight~

Day 56 and Review #6

Happy Saturday All!

Mia went for a change of pace today and grabbed glosses for us to wear instead of lipsticks. She has on Hot Pink from Sephora and she let me wear her M.A.C Selena favorite Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.  It is a great color but I think she really likes wearing it for the name and I know I do because it makes me feel like marching in a band!  It needed a little extra so I paired it with M.A.C's Rosy Rim liner and this adds a nice touch.

We had a great day at home in the kitchen again making our second batch of Zeppole. This time we used a different recipe for comparison purposes since we had never made it before the other night and we have declared this one the winner of the two.  I don't think I can look at any more of them for a while though but do believe we have the frying time down after many taste tests.   The big crash happened when I slipped into a powdered sugar coma during my tea break. Thank you, Detective Sonny Carisi for introducing us to these dietary destructors...I hope I live through another batch!

Speaking of winners, we do have a couple more declarations to make.  For our sixth review, Mia is naming her favorite color of this past time period the Tangerine Lady Katie lip crayon and the longest wearing was the one she wore yesterday, Dreaming of You.  I can attest to this because she was eating an apple and her lipstick looked the same after each bite as it did when the apple was whole.  No lipstick on the apple AT ALL!!

My favorite for the time period was Ladybug both for color and longest wearing.

As far as everything else that goes along with this challenge, we have been in a transition period as Mia went back to school and our routine changed but it is going smoothly.  Honestly, I have not touched my hair aside from brushing it and putting it up everyday and Mia's was the same.  It takes us so much time to just do the basics without access to a full bath so there is not time for heated devices in the school morning chaos. This is no excuse though so my goal this week is to improve on this by setting up a a style station. It can be done...no room for negative...only solutions!!

Aside from our Italian donut binges, we have been eating healthy and walking and rolling a couple times a week in the hood.   Plus we've been going to our fitness class with the very generous help of classmates and their mom who pick us up in their minivan since I can't get Mia and her chair in Agnes, my lonely little buggy.   Mia has also been going to therapy and since there are wheelchairs already there, the staff helps Mia in and out and that is above and beyond customer service!!  For these two ongoing kind gestures we are both grateful.  On top of these outside activities,  we've been doing our own routine of exercises together at home.  We usually put on an album and listen to it in it's entirety while working out which reminds me of my own teen years with my sister Wendy because that is the kind of thing we used to do together, sometimes even while listening to Ruth doing The Seventh Day on KSHE 95.  Love those memories and I hope Mia will look back on these someday and love 'em too.

Overall,  this challenge is a good thing for both of us.  It all comes down to confidence building and it is working because I am watching my daughter get stronger in more ways than one and this is what really makes me happier than anything.

Gotta go but will see you tomorrow!

55th Day

Wow Wee...I don't think that is how it is spelled but still, here we are on the eve of the 56th day of 365 Days of Lipstick.  It is hard to believe we are this far along but I must say we're both doing great keeping up with this fun challenge.

On this day, pretty girl Mia has on her M.A.C Selena Dreaming of You and Yours Truly is wearing Creme Brulee by Revlon.

Disclaimer:  These pics include a redo.  As Mia's bus driver's waited patiently, we took one before she boarded the bus and as always she looked great, but me not so much.  Haggish!!  I did take the color pictures with my coffee and Matt and Carson this morning, though.  I am stating this about the picture redo to number one, apologize to John and Brenda for holding them up this morning for nothing, and number two, because someone who has been following this busted me bare lipped this afternoon.  But actually, my color for today is a barely there color and had worn off by then. Needless to say, it is not going to win the longest wearing category...which reminds me we are due for a review but not tonight. Too sleepy.

Bye for now!

Today is Day 54! Early risers!!

Finally!! It has been a long time since posting in the morning! Miracles never cease around here but today is my favorite day of the week so maybe it is a good omen.

Mia has on a combo of NYC'S Petal with M.A.C Dubonnet with maybe even a few sugar and cinnamon sprinkles for good measure. I have on Wet n Wild's Smokin Hot Pink. Looks more red though on me and I do like it.

Happy Thursday!

53

Here we are on Day 53 of 365 Days of Lipstick and still going strong with our challenge!

Winding down for the night but not without a fresh application for our post.

Today Mia wore Wet n Wild's It's a Girl and I wore Sutra by Aveda.

Bonus pics from today...got my Aunt Mary to mug for the camera too when she stopped to see what I was up to!

Five Two aka 52 as in Fifty Two Days of Lipstick...

...so far this year!!  In other news: the girl went back to school today.  I think she was really glad to get out of the house and into the school scene again.  And the treats made it to the hands of the bus drivers so they were happy too.  It was definitely a successful first day back!

Today we wore two of Clinique's finest:  Mia graced the halls wearing Rum Kiss and I was able to scrape a little bit more out of the I'm Yours tube!!  Can you believe it?  That one isn't ready for the grave yet and it's a good thing because I certainly am not ready to let it go.

That's all for now. See you Mittwoch!

Day 51...In the Kitchen

Tonight we made our first ever batch of Zeppole!  A few additions here and there and I think we have a winner.  DEElish!!  We both went overboard on quality control though so there is not much left over for treats to give away in the morning but still there are some.  However, it is definitely a safe bet to say there won't be any left if we don't hide these from Charlie and his carb cravings.  It is constant vigilance with that feline thief around food.

Tonight Mia has on the brick neutral at the right end of the Simply Lovely palette and I have on the top right color in the Clinique palette.  No names to mention but they are both simple and lovely colors that go very nicely with a dusting of powdered sugar...

See you tomorrow!!

Day 50! In just 10 days we will be at the 2 Month Mark!!

That being said, it is very hard to believe 50 days of the new year have already happened.
Time flies like crazy!!

We took advantage of the sunshine today and went for a walk and roll and didn't even need our coats which was a rare treat for February.    We did take our lipsticks though...Mia has on Artist's Natural Rouge from Makeup Forever and I have on Razzleberry from Origins.  Both pretty neutrals and keepers!!

See you next time!

Day 49 of 365 Days of Lipstick...

...is coming to an end. It is a good thing too because I am very sleepy.  Today was spent working on my rehab project and I am B-E-A-T!! It was a very nice thing to come home to a delicious quiche with kale, bacon and shallots.  I was starving so it really hit the spot.   Did I mention the homemade chocolate pie too?  Maybe some of that later. Right now it is tea time.

Today Mia wore the tangerine Lady Katie pencil and lined it with M.A.C Brick. I wore Glazed Sheer by Sebastian.

Goodnight. Sleep tight Everybody!
