Lipstick Log: Day 45 & Review No. 5

Well, here we are, posting late night again, but that is ok though because today was another long day and a progressive one to boot...no pun intended.  Mia got her cast changed so we had to be at the surgery center @ 630 and then back at therapy this afternoon.   The Dr is happy with how things look so far and Mia can even wiggle her foot now which is more than she could do before so all is well!

We both went bare faced this morning but got with the program by afternoon.  Mia wore Cherry Cola by Loreal and I wore my tried and true Black Honey by Clinique.

As far as Review No. 5 goes:  Mia's favorite color was the one she wore yesterday,  All Heart.  I was envious she got to wear that too;  I had not remembered that one so hopefully it will fall into my fingers soon.  She said the longest wearing was Dreaming of You.

My favorite color of this last timeframe was Pink Penny.  I love that color and think it goes with a multitude of blush shades.  The longest wearing was my witch black, paired with the Brick pencil. I must confess I fell asleep with that on and it was still there the next morning and trust me it was scary!

What did wearing lipstick do for us this last week or so?  For me (and this is ongoing)  it gives me confidence to take daily photos for this lipstick log which keeps me on target and honestly facing the commitment I made to me to take better care of myself this year.  It has also helped me get out of the house and walk around rhe neighborhood  to get fresh air and exercise with my girl even if it is only for 15 minutes at a pop.   Another ongoing bonus is it makes me put other makeup on too to go with the lipstick; some days I wear more than others but I always have on at least blush too.  My hair on the other hand has been upswept mostly with a couple braids in between but I can live with that.

Mia says lipstick has continued to affect her moods--she says it makes her feel happier and gives her confidence.  I can vouch for that too because I have seen and heard it with my own eyes and ears. Whenever she sees someone out and about and they comment on her lipstick, she chats up about what we are doing and then whomever she is talking with gets excited and starts talking about their lipsticks or how much they like this challenge so it is really a big smile contagion.

Mia also said it makes her want to put on more makeup.  Choosing random lipcolors every day does add a nice level of creativity because of having to find complimenting colors to go with the base. Granted, I am not forcing Mia to do the grab bag style when she doesn 't want to but that does not mean it isn't challenging to come up with a full face of makeup.

At one and a half months in, I am patting us on the back for our fortitude.  This whole challenge is definitely a win win.  I mean, how could it not be?  It is nothing but fun and who does not want to look and feel better about themselves?  Anyone? Anyone?  Bueller?  Bueller?
