We are 74 days into 2017 already? How can this be? K-razy!!
Well, this also means 74 days of wearing lipstick has happened and that is even crazier! Good crazy though--unbelievably good--BUT, I would be lying if I said it was easy.
It seems like a simple enough challenge but there are other factors besides coloring a part of a person's face to dress things up a bit that take some working around: logistics, mood, time and memory are the big ones. However, these considerations are also the very same things that add to the fun and make it all worthwhile (if that makes sense).
Logistically speaking we have to remember to bring colors with us if we go somewhere and then remember to take photos of ourselves and the lipsticks while we are on that location. This adds a lot to the fun and keeps the posting fresh but sometimes time does not allow for all the pics to happen at once. That is okay though because as long as it all happens, it really doesn't matter. I can't get too anal over this or it won't be fun at all.
As for mood, honestly, sometimes I just don't feel like putting on lipstick but those are the days I need it the most. I have found that even if it is later in the day, putting lipstick on is like taking a supercharged vitamin and it makes me feel good as soon as I do. I can see this in Mia too, although she is always in a good mood but even still, she becomes more extroverted when she puts on her smile.
Finding time is always a factor...this is often the last part of our morning scramble on school days--not always but often. Some days we get everything done early and have a few minutes and these are really pleasant happenings because we can enjoy the moments selecting colors and putting our best faces forward instead of rushing to just do it. In all honesty, we don't need to find the time because it is already there, we just need to take the time to do it right and could easily make a couple time management adjustments that would help. These times we have as mother and daughter growing up together are going fast and we have to make the most of every minute we have together,
And lastly, this challenge is a lot about memory. Remembering to take care of myself and be a good influence on my daughter. I had mentioned on Day 1 of this that I tried to so this myself last year and didn't last two weeks so I figured this year asking Mia would help keep me on target but also be a way for us to have fun together doing somethng that would benefit us both. I know we are creating good memories every day we do this and the daily photos will serve as a reminder of these fun times for many years to come.
This is all proof positive that wearing lipstick has many benefits besides making a person prettier on the outside; it helps them on the inside too. Hair is another story, maybe even another challenge but for now, I need to focus on this one and get on with the review and color of the day.
Mia's longest wearing of the last time period was Dreaming Of You and her favorite color was Coconut Water Lipstain. My longest wearing was Smile and favorite color was Dubonnet.
Tofay I wore one of my favorite lip glosses: Melon Sorbet by Laura Geller. Mia wore Clinique's Shy with a M.A.C Lipglass in Chickie...which was kind of ironic because we had some friends over for lunch today and made home made chickie soup with them. No sorbet for dessert though, but we did have frozen grapes and come to think of it the consistency is quite the same.
Enough babbling for now! Sleepy time. Please pardon any spelling errors until the morning, my proofreader is snoozing soundly.
